Iain McGilchrist - Author, Psychiatrist

Updated: May 17

Dr. Iain McGilchrist is author of The Master and His Emissary and, most recently, The Matter With Things (2021). From his website:

'He is committed to the idea that the mind and brain can be understood only by seeing them in the broadest possible context, that of the whole of our physical and spiritual existence, and of the wider human culture in which they arise – the culture which helps to mould, and in turn is moulded by, our minds and brains'.

Dr. McGilchrist's writings are erudite, immaculately researched, complex and rich. The Matter With Things will no doubt soon be considered a classic and one of the work important works of the 21st Century.

His Youtube channel and website are resources of high quality:
